INCLUDED TOURS
Explore the diverse terrain of Cozumel on these tours, available at no
additional cost (I never get tired of writing that: no additional cost,
no additional cost, no additional cost … glee).
CHANKANAAB
Just south of Cozumel, visit Chankanaab National Park with its botanical
gardens and replicas of carved stone monuments representing the most
important Pre-Hispanic civilizations. Inside the park you will discover
Chankanaab Lagoon, a natural aquarium. In Mayan, this means “small
sea” and is considered one of the most exceptional ecosystems in the
world. Enjoy a relaxing day at the beach and a wide variety of water
sports.
Your tour includes a bilingual tour guide, national park entrance fee and roundtrip transportation. You’re responsible for food and beverages and snorkel gear rental. Wear comfortable shoes (like I need to tell you that), a hat and biodegradable sun block (we’ll get you some recommendations). Bring some moola in case there’s anything you want (or to tip your nice tour guide).
SNORKELING ADVENTURE
The crystal clear, warm waters of the Mexican Caribbean invite you to
spoil yourself in two of the most beautiful shallow reefs within the
National Marine Park “Reefs of Cozumel”. A professional snorkel
guide will give you directions and the basic instructions so that you
enjoy this wonderful experience. Snorkeling time at each reef is 45
minutes.
Your tour includes a bilingual tour guide, roundtrip boat transportation, soft drinks and snorkel equipment. It does not include a $2 per person marine park preservation fee. Wear a bathing suit, bring a towel and cover yourself in biodegradeable sunblock.
COBA
You will be taken on a journey to one of the oldest cities of the Mayan
civilization. Visit Coba, a historical place in the middle of the lush
jungle, among five lagoons, and climb the highest pyramid of the Yucatan
Peninsula, taller than “The Castle” pyramid of Chichen Itza.
Your tour includes a bilingual tour guide, roundtrip transportation, entrance fee to the archaeological site of Coba and a lunch buffet. Your beverages are not included. Wear comfy walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Bring some moola for souvenirs and drinks. If you wish to use your video camera, there’s a $4 fee.
DIVING
Cozumel is widely considered the dive capital of the western hemisphere.
The reefs surrounding Cozumel’s shores include some of the largest and
oldest corals in the world. The underwater world of Cozumel is
stunningly varied, from dramatic underwater cliffs and coral teaming
with colorful fishes to intriguing caverns and shallow reefs.
Geology greatly contributed to Cozumel’s uniqueness since the island protects the reefs from the powerful open ocean waves crashing on its eastern side. This reverse-barrier reef system and the gentle current from the Gulf Stream provide Cozumel with unmatched clear waters and ideal conditions for diving in a distinctive ecosystem.
AquaWorld, a 5-star Padi Dive Center with more than 20 years experience in the scuba diving business, has partnered with Palace Resorts to offer the best scuba diving experience. In addition to two-tank dive trips, AquaWorld services include daily cenote dives, tri-weekly night dives and wreck dives to Cancun. Among its educational programs are “Discover Scuba Program” for beginners and for advance divers the “Rescue Diver”, “Master Scuba Diver” and “Dive Master Trainer” programs, just to name a few.
