combined it with a two night stay in Paris, arguably one of the most
exciting cities in the world. From Paris we will travel through the
beautiful French countryside to embark our ship in Trier. On the way
we will stop in Rheims for a visit of the famous Champagne cellars
and Cathedral with its spectacular Chagall windows.

Our home is the newest ship sailing Europe's waterways ms
Amalyra. During our seven day cruise we will travel on the
Moselle, Rhine, and Main rivers with stops in Cochem, Koblenz,
Rudesheim, Frankfurt (optional excursion to Heidelberg),
Miltenberg, Wertheim, Wurzburg and Bamberg before ending the
cruise in Nuremberg. From here you will have the option to go to
historic Prague. This cruise offers a variety of dramatic scenery,
visits to charming villages and castles, wine tasting, exciting gay
life and of course great shopping await you.

Day by Day
Day 1 - Overnight flight to Paris (for US departures)
Board your overnight flight to Paris (in-flight meals).
Day 2 - Arrive in Paris
Arrive in Paris and transfer to your hotel. Start exploring the city during the balance of the day.
Day 3 - Paris
Enjoy a full day to explore the amazing City of Light, where romance fills the air. Stroll along the Champs Elysees, the boutique-lined boulevard, or visit the top of the Eiffel Tower, built for the World's Fair in 1889. Sip coffee or taste some French wines in the buzzing Latin Quarter, or chat with one of the many artists along the banks of the Seine River. Paris at night offers unlimited possibilities for everybody's taste.
Day 4 - Paris, Trier (Cruise embarkation)
Enjoy some more free time in Paris this morning. After lunch drive from Paris through the scenic French countryside to Trier, Germany's oldest city, and board your deluxe river cruise ship. Explore charming Trier with its Roman monuments, imperial baths, Porta Nigra gate and amphitheater and perhaps taste the famous Moselle wines. Tonight gather on board for a Gala Welcome Dinner. The ship will moor overnight in Trier.
Day 5 - Cochem, Koblenz
The ship departs very early through scenic wine-growing areas down the winding Moselle River to magnificent Cochem. Here, a guided morning tour will take you to hilltop Reichsburg Castle, which offers fascinating views of the river valley. There is free time to shop in town before departing for Coblenz at lunchtime. Bid farewell to the Moselle as you arrive in Coblenz at the confluence of the Rhine River. Late afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour of this historic hub of trade. After dinner, join your cruise manager for an evening outing in Coblenz.
Day 6 - Rhine Valley, Rüdesheim
This morning, be on deck to see the most beautiful and famous part of the Rhine River. See castle after castle and the infamous Lorelei Rock. Today's scenic cruise takes you to the little wine village of Rüdesheim. Tour the town and visit the unique Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Return to the ship via the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants.
Day 7 - Frankfurt
Today, drink in the stunning beauty of the castles along the Rhine as we sail through the fascinating Rhine Gorge, and cruise past the famous Lorelei Rock. In the afternoon arrive in Frankfurt, the bustling metropolis on the River Main; here enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic city center "The Romer." Excursion to Heidelberg.
Day 8 - Miltenberg, Wertheim
Arrive in Miltenberg and disembark for a guided morning walking tour of this old Franconian town, which reveals narrow cobblestone streets and gabled, half-timbered houses. Shop for souvenirs before your coach takes you to charming Wertheim where you can browse the market square before boarding the ship. For the rest of the day, cruise through the sunny valleys of the meandering Main, which has always been the major lifeline of this region. Glassblowing

Day 9 - Würzburg
After a morning filled with beautiful Main River scenery, you'll be romanced by Würzburg, "The Pearl of the Romantic Road." Surrounded by sloping hills covered with vineyards, the city is the capital of Lower Franconia, a center of wine and trade. During your morning tour, visit the major sights including the magnificent Residential Palace. Your afternoon cruise takes you past charming Volkach and through the Franconian wine region on an overnight cruise to Bamberg After dinner, join your fellow travelers in the lounge to listen to a medieval musical performance.
Day 10 - Bamberg
Disembark for a guided tour of this medieval gem, with its uniquely intact townscape. Marvel at the breathtaking cathedral, the Old Town Hall that straddles the river, and the city's serpentine streets with charming houses and 18th-century mansions. From here your coach will take you through the picturesque countryside to rejoin your ship in Erlangen.
Day 11 - MD Canal, Nuremberg
This morning, enter the Main-Danube Canal at enchanting Bamberg, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. Continue along the Main-Danube Canal to ancient Nuremberg, capital of Franconia. Disembark in Nuremberg and transfer to your hotel, airport or optional post-cruise 2 night stay in Prague.

On board the ms Amalyra you will savor the luxury of more space than on any other cruise ship in Europe. There are 2 lounges located on the Upper Deck from which you can enjoy panoramic river views, the Panorama Lounge which accommodates up to 150 passengers, and the smaller Adagio Lounge in the Aft of the ship, which can also be reserved for group meetings.

Enter the contemporary Lobby with its captivating artwork, then relax in the modern lounges and bars with comfortable furnishings. • BICYCLES: Ship has 25 bicycles on board which can be used by passengers free of charge to visit the small towns. Today, most regions offer well-maintained bicycle paths along the river.
• INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM: Every stateroom is equipped with monitor and keyboard with Internet access, English speaking TV stations, a large movie selection and numerous music programs. Our satellite telephone system allows you to call home for only 1 Euro per minute.
• THE GENEROUS WELLNESS AREA located in the Aft area of the Violin Deck includes a glassed-in fitness room, massage, beauty salon and the Adagio Lounge with bar, modern wicker furniture and French doors to enjoy the fresh river air.
• ELEVATOR: Ships have an elevator, which only very few river cruise ships are featuring. The elevator reaches 4 different levels: The Restaurant level (1), the Staterooms on the Cello Deck (2), the Lobby and Panorama Lounge (3) and the Staterooms on the Violin Deck (4).
• STATEROOMS: Inside your exquisitely decorated stateroom you'll find all the amenities of a fine hotel, with white-on-white plush bedding, a cozy sitting area, Infotainment System, hair dryer, safe, fluffy bathrobes, individually controlled air-conditioning and ample closet space. All 71 staterooms and the 4 Jr. Suites are outside; over 82% feature large French balconies, which are a true delight when relaxing in your stateroom.
• JUNIOR SUITES: Although rarely found on European river cruise ships, Junior Suites aboard the ms Amalyra are extra spacious - 255 square feet. They feature a comfortable sitting area with a sofa and two chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows with French balcony and a luxurious, extra spacious bathroom with bathtub and shower. The suites sell quickly, so early reservations are recommended.

Return from your shore excursion and our team of chefs will always try to surprise you with a delicious lunch.
