FULL ITINERARY: DAY ONE. WELCOME TO BIG SKY COUNTRY. Your OutWest trip leaders will greet you at the airport or your area hotel. The one-hour drive to Big Sky will take us down the Gallatin Valley through a narrow canyon. Our accommodations are at the base area of Big Sky and ski in/ski out. The Huntley Lodge is conveniently located in the heart of Big Sky's Mountain Village. The Huntley complex includes a fine dining room, lounge, coffee cart, concierge, shops, ski storage, meeting rooms and Solace Spa. That evening we’ll gather for a welcome cocktail followed by dinner at a local restaurant. Welcome to Big Sky!DAY TWO. SKI, SNOWBOARD, SOAK AND RELAX. Rated one of the top ten resorts in North America, Big Sky offers a variety of slopes. You’ll have two full days to explore Big Sky’s vast terrain. Whether you’re looking for bumps, steeps, trees, or wide-open groomers, Big Sky has the perfect slopes for you. Big Sky has three mountains to delight skiers and snowboarders. Lone Mountain is the resort's signature peak, rising to a lofty 11,166 feet. The Lone Peak Tram takes the adventuresome to its very apex, with 3,600 acres, 4,350 jaw-dropping vertical feet and European-style expert terrain below. Adjacent Andesite Mountain has some the resort's most notable intermediate cruising runs, some comfortable south-facing beginner trails, several expert tree runs and a giant half-pipe and terrain park. Flat Iron Mountain, on the eastern shoulder of Andesite, offers even more variety. At the end of the day, you may want to schedule a massage in the spa, or kick-back in the pool, hot tub, or sauna. In the evening, we’ll gather for drinks and a casual dinner. |
